Here is a quite exceptional resource book, written by a theologian-poet and a practical liturgist. Their joint aim is twofold: to get beneath the various layers of meaning in the Easter ceremonies and to provide material that any parish will be able to use, no matter how small and limited its resources.
An overview of each of the major days of Holy Week is given with an enormous number of suggestions for bringing a particular liturgical moment alive, making space for prayer and allowing a deeper understanding of the Paschal Mystery.
This is followed by numerous texts rewritten with great skill to fit existing melodies, so that everyone in the congregation is able to reclaim the liturgical texts which are rightfully theirs and can proclaim them in song with ease.
