James MacMillan's Tenebrae Responsories

James MacMillan's Tenebrae Responsories for 8-part mixed choir a cappella presents a powerful setting of three of the Good Friday responses at matins: 'Tenebrae factae sunt', 'Tradiderunt me' and 'Iesum tradidit impius'.

Commissioned by Cappella Nova (director: Alan Tavener) and recorded by them on Linn Records, Tenebrae Responsories is a major addition to this composer's works for advanced standard chamber choir.

Also just released are a set of seven Strathclyde Motets available as individual choral ottavos. These communion motets set propers of the Mass and are suitable for adventurous choirs.
